MySQL Replication: A series of posts

One of the topics I receive the most questions about is MySQL replication. In a series of posts, I'll explore these questions in-depth each day. If you have any extra questions that I don't happen to answer, throw me a comment and I'll be happy to review it for you.

The topics will cover MySQL 4.1 and 5.0, but I'll leave out MySQL 5.1's new replication abilities since it has not reached a General Availability status quite yet.

  • Welcome! I started this blog as a way to give back to all of the other system administrators who have taught me something in the past. Writing these posts brings me a lot of enjoyment and I hope you find the information useful. If you spot something that's incorrect or confusing, please write a comment and let me know. Drop me a line if there's something you want to know more about and I'll do my best to write a post on the topic.
